IN PONCE
In a recent move to expand cruise options to the island, the southern city of Ponce now receives the Serenade of the Seas and Celebrity Cruise four times per year. If you choose to make this town your port of call, you can enjoy historical sites such as El Parque de Bombas — an iconic fire station-turned museum — Castillo Serralles, or you can enjoy a day at La Guancha boardwalk where there are plenty of seafood restaurants, fritter carts, live music, and other activities.
The Economic impact for the month of November 2021 based on a projection of 60% capacity is $ 7,789,884.28. We expected a total of 34 boats during November of 2021 (6 homeports and 28 in transit). The behavior of cruise ships is cyclical and November marks the start of the high season. If we compare this November 2021 to November 2019, we’ve seen a 56% decrease in passengers and a 45% decrease in ship visits, but by January 2022 we hope to begin to see higher numbers similar to those before the pandemic began
